Problem
Aesthetic literacy is an indispensable part of children's multiple intelligence development. With the popularization of digital media and AI technology, how should young children adapt to and utilize these tools to perceive, learn, and create?

Solution
Codejoy AI kits are designed to help children understand the concepts of AI and technology, while also using them creatively to produce art. With our kits, children can learn about computer vision, data analysis, and natural language processing principles, all while creating beautiful works of art.
By combining technology with art, we can encourage children to develop their aesthetic literacy while also nurturing their interest in STEM subjects.
Our project has been selected as a Shanghai high-quality curriculum system with a 96% customer satisfaction rate. We have iterated three times with over 100 participants, trained 17 teachers, and generated 30,000 RMB in sales.

Understanding children STEAM education

AI programming and maker skills provide tools and a foundation for children's art creation. We conducted observational visits, held Maker Faires and workshops in local primary schools and communities to study STEM learning behaviors among children aged 6 to 12 years old.

Our research has shown that children learn in three primary environments: at home, at school, and in community centers. The relationship between children and these spaces plays a vital role in their overall development. Therefore, we designed our products to be integrated into each of these three spaces, ensuring a holistic approach to learning.

Multiple Rounds of Making & Testing 多轮原型制作与测试
Our design process began by using Scratch and Micro:bit to explore different possibilities and limitations of the system. We then proceeded to create multiple sacrificial prototypes using laser cutting techniques, and underwent several iterations before arriving at our final set of products.

Community Workshops

We presented our products at various events, including the Dongming Community, Baoshan Primary School, and Chengdu Education Expo, to over a hundred audiences from design, tech, research, and education communities. We received a very positive response overall, with excellent sales figures.
