Whispering Kiss is an interactive device that explores gender intimacy. When worn, the device's visual shield completely immerses the user in a world of electromagnetic noise and lip tactile sensations. Contact between the lips and the machine triggers a transformation of the noise into a mixture of ASMR human voice and electromagnetic sounds, simulating an interactive state of kissing with a partner in a post-human era. The participant's behavior also has a visual impact on other viewers.
Through lip tactile sensations and mixed electromagnetic sounds, this work re-examines the genderless machines around us and metaphorically represents the de-sexualized intimate contact between people.
